The Corporate Governance Center at the University of Tennessee is unique among universities because it draws from two academic disciplines—the College of Business Administration and the College of Law. With both business and legal experts involved, the center addresses a broader range of public policy issues and brings a greater diversity of perspectives to the governance challenges currently facing corporate America.
The center is a collaborative effort involving approximately 13 faculty members across a number of academic disciplines, and its research efforts focus on issues surrounding board structure and firm performance, with a particular focus on the work of the audit, compensation, and nominating/governance committees.
